About Us

In 2018 we clarified our name as North Church Cairns. Our primary aim is to grow our identity as the people of God in Christ, and to be re-formed and directed by Jesus as a people who are in a season of renewal in the Gospel. We welcome you to join us, to seek the Lord together and to find new life together at this time in history.

North Church Cairns, belongs to the Uniting Church of Australia. By belonging to the uniting Church of Australia, we hold to the Basis of Union.

Quoting from .3 of the Basis of Union built on the one Lord Jesus Christ. The uniting Church acknowledges that the faith and unity of the Holy Universal and Apostolic church are built upon the one Lord Jesus Christ. The church preaches Christ, the risen crucified one, and confesses him as Lord to the glory of God the Father. In Jesus Christ, God was reconciling the world to Himself (2 Corinthians 5:19) in love for the world. God gave His Son to take away the world’s sins.

We also acknowledge that as Christians in Australia we are called to bear witness to a unity of faith and life in Christ which transcends culture and economic national and racial boundaries. As a local Church on the Northern Beaches, we reflect the diverse cultures of the area, which include various nations living in the region.
